Code of Conduct

THE ISNR IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING A SAFE MEETING ENVIRONMENT THAT FOSTERS OPEN DIALOGUE AND EXCHANGE OF SCIENTIFIC IDEAS, PROMOTES EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND FAIR TREATMENT FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS REGARDLESS OF AGE, GENDER IDENTITY, DISABILITIES, RACE, ETHNICITY, RELIGION, OR SEXUAL ORIENTATION. THE FOLLOWING CODE OF CONDUCT APPLIES TO ALL MEETING PARTICIPANTS AND GUESTS:

  • Arrive at the meeting with an open, positive attitude for scientific exchange.

  • Present science that is conducted in accordance with ethical principles and your institutional guidelines.

  • Behave in a professional manner throughout the meeting sessions. This includes: silencing cell phones, limiting side conversations, being prompt in arriving to sessions, waiting to be recognized by the chairperson or speaker when asking a question.

  • Respect other people’s ideas, personal space and property.

  • Observe the behavioral rules and expectations of the venue (e.g. observing “quiet” time or space, use of facilities as intended).

  • The following behaviors will not be permitted in association with the meeting: abuse, derogatory remarks, personal insults, harassment, threats, or discrimination of any kind.

  • As per NIH policy, allegations of violations of the Code of Conduct can be made to the Director or to members of the SAB. They will be kept confidential, considered seriously, and escalated in accordance with NIH policy.  Individuals who are found to violate the Code of Conduct by the SAB may be excluded from the current and/or future meetings.
